Wedding Right Before Birthday

Erin, on November 18, 2019 at 11:51 PM Posted in Planning 0 11

My birthday is extremely important to me. It's been one of my favorite days of the year for my entire life. That being said, the best date for our wedding location happens to be in June. Too early in the month and there's a higher chance of snow (yay mountains), too late and you enter the rainy months. July and August have a 50/50 chance of rain and there is no rain alternative for the ceremony. Because of this, the only logical date for the wedding is June 19th 2021, which is 3 days before my birthday.

Does anyone have any suggestions for how to make sure my birthday is still special in the wake of my wedding? My FH knows how important my birthday is to me, but we've had a few rough ones over the years and I don't want this birthday to go the same way. I also don't want it to be forgotten.

    Hey Erin!

If you really want to have a special birthday after your wedding, then plan some of your favorite activities for that day! You could book a table in your favorite restaurant or recreate your favorite date from when you were dating. It would be wonderful to have this to look forward to after your wedding!

My wedding is three days before my birthday too! But I've never been big on celebrating. So for me the wedding will be my best birthday-ish celebration ever haha. Maybe you could incorporate some birthday themes into your wedding. Also, like PP said if you're going on a honeymoon right after that would be a blast!

Could you maybe incorporate a tiny bit of your birthday into your wedding? Since all your important people are going to be there. Maybe sing Happy Birthday. I'm not sure if you want to mix the two like that, or have separate celebrations. My FH birthday is on our wedding day, and mine is the day after. Usually I'll try to get all my out-of-town friends together to celebrate, but this year the celebration will be our honeymoon and I'm really looking forward to it!

My birthday was the day before our wedding, so our rehearsal was also my birthday party. I was able to get cake 2 days in a row and also, I look at it like a guaranteed vacation every year. I mean we have to celebrate the birthday and anniversary 😃

Unfortunately I think we’re most likely going to have to wait for a while to go on our honeymoon Smiley sad. My parents have mentioned they might be gifting us a cruise, but I don’t want to have any expectations until I have tickets in my hand.
    Also thank you! Smiley laugh

That’s a possibility. All my friends will be in town and I’ll be able to see a lot of them for the first time in years (since I moved away). So it’ll be pretty special.

I think he would have to plan to make sure your birthday is recognized and just as special as he has before. Just like he would for y'alls anniversary. I am sure if this were reversed, you'd make sure you set the two aside apart and make sure you made his birthday special no matter how close it was to any other date. you cannot choose your birthday and you can't move it. That will Always be YOUR day. The wedding is YOUR DAY TOGETHER and his birthday is HIS day. Treat them all as such.

My wedding was 2 days after my birthday - it's no big deal.

Our wedding was 11 days after our birthday. I also didn't want our wedding to share a month with a celebration but that's the way it worked out and it isn't a huge deal. We were on our honeymoon during my birthday so we didn't do anything crazy but I'm not a big birthday person. If your future spouse knows how important birthdays are to you, I think you will be fine. Double the celebrations!
