wedding Restaurant!

Dj Tanner, on March 9, 2021 at 4:46 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 1 21
My fiancé and I just came up with this crazy idea and I wish there was an entrepreneur out there that would do this…

There are so many brides that always wish that they could wear their wedding dresses for more than just one day. I already know that I’m going to be that bride.
I wish someone would open up some sort of restaurant specifically geared towards married couples and everyone wears their wedding dresses and the grooms wear their tuxes to dinner!
I feel like it would be so much fun to go out to eat and see a bunch of brides and all of the different dresses as well as put mine on and go out and think back on the wedding day…
Any thoughts on this?!

Hahah that’s a really fun idea! I could see it as a once a year pop up event! My husbands tux was super unique so I can’t see him wearing his in the future, even though plenty of grooms do get a re-wear at black tie events.

I may or may not have screenshotted this to my fiancé in hopes he will agree and get this in the works for us! LOL

I LOVE this idea. Ugh, the dress is just worth so much more than a few hours of fame!

What a wonderful idea! Maybe it could be like a ticketed/scheduled event so that way married couples can attend with other married couples. They could renew their vows, have a little photoshoot, enjoy cocktail hour, have a lovely dinner and talk amongst other married couples, and dance the night away so it's kind of like reliving their wedding day!

LOL me and you both! All I think about is Monica, Rachel, and Pheobe drinking on the couch in their wedding dress. Imagine the amount of fun you'd have and friends you'd meet.

I got a "Lol, what do we want for dinner?" from my fiancé so it's not looking good for us - but I'm just a flight away if someone goes through with it!!

    Dear Dj,

As someone who works in the restaurant business, I can tell you that it's a great idea but wouldn't be very profitable... And can you imagine the groans anytime something was spilled onto their dresses? Here in the South, there are white-tie clubs that you can attend like this, if you want to pay $30,000 a year in fees and make sure to have a different dress for each event. Even then, only girls who are "debutants" wear white; and that's before marriage. It's like a "coming of age," or "here's my daughter, come and take her," kind of thing.

I can definitely imagine myself dyeing my dress and wearing it again if I went to an event like this. Having said that, to have a white-tie dinner, you have to put a lot of funds behind this. For example, we may buy our wedding dresses but I know that my fiancee is going to rent his tuxedo.

Love your post! I know that in other countries, and even some places here, you can go to "balls," which would be a perfect place to Anna Karenina the heck out of everyone by showing up in your wedding dress!

This is really cool idea. It should be geared towards anniversary dinners! After all every day is someone’s anniversary. I would definitely do this.

But is there dancing too, though? Then I'm down.

So true! Or in addition to anniversary it could even be the date that you got proposed/engaged on!

    I do like the idea!
It would be more for me though because my husband bought a generic suit for the wedding that he wears beyond the wedding

I've seen brides wear their dresses to regular restaurants and no one batted an eye. While it's great in theory, it probably would not be able to make a profit being so niche.

If you have a tight dresss and you're comfortable with the "amount" of your body covered/revealed , you can wear it for in a random restaurant/dinner. I bet no one will notice.
However ,if it's poofy or a large A line ... You'll definitely steal the spotlight LOL.
It would be a great idea though. But it would be pretty expensive on valentine's day or holiday's you'd have to book a date at least 18-24 months out, ,like most of us did/do for a wedding venue.About the tuxes/suits it's another story since you can rent it, for those who did rent it, because I can't see myself renting one for this'.I'd have to wear a suit I already have but not the tux I will wear on the big day 😭.

I would love to wear my dress more. Isn't there a day in Vatican City where you rewear the dress and tux/suit?

Wow that’s interesting I’d have to ask my dad. My dad was born in Italy and he’s Roman Catholic so I’m sure he’d know haha

A girl I know got married about 5 years ago and on their anniversary they dress up in her wedding dress and his suit and have dinner at home. Then they do the whole "take a selfie, frame it, and next year take another selfie holding the framed selfie from last year." If that makes sense? I think it's super cute and a great way to get more than one night out of the dress!
