Wedding - Rescheduling

Sylvie, on March 19, 2020 at 2:26 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 10
I will not and can’t imagine to reschedule until next year or any date due to some coronavirus.... I have family that already bought their plane tickets, and everything else put in place for our September wedding... NO REFUNDS at our venue... so hmmmmm.. next down payment is around the corner 😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫🥺

I fully believe that things will be better long before September so you should be fine. IF, by some freakish chance, it's not resolved or at least under control by then, you could always to do what many others are and get married with a much smaller group or go to the courthouse, and reschedule the big party to a later date. It sounds like most vendors are being reasonable and working with brides to reschedule so they don't lose deposits.

I agree with PP. I'm also tired of the pessimistic approach that this could last longer. So I'm choosing to be optimistic about this. The 8 weeks they initially said to get this under control and that if we continue to be vigilant in washing hands, disinfecting and if you are sick to please just stay home we can get back to what we use to be. My wedding is also in September, I'm not planning on rescheduling and my venue coordinator sounds confident that we will not need to.

Like the PP said be optimistic. Your wedding is months away so I wouldn’t make any drastic decisions right now.

Agreed 😊I’m to the point if we have to reschedule when that time comes no big deal, we are still going to get married at some point.

Our reception is in September and wedding in October. We're continuing forward as if nothing has changed because it hasn't.

I just rescheduled my April 18 wedding for October. I think everything will be better by then, but if it’s not a lot of vendors and venues will adjust as necessary. Our venue also had a strict refunds policy and we would have lost our deposit to reschedule. However, due to the current issues they temporarily changed their policies and we were able to change everything to a new date. It’s stressful to have to do so and takes a lot of coordination, but we found that our vendors were very flexible during this. We ended up only losing one and that was because they were already booked for every date our venue has available for rescheduling. As far as flights and accommodations- they’re currently offering refunds (or credits) for upcoming travel. We were able to get what we paid for our flight to PR credited to be used at a later date and our hotel block for our guests has allowed people to cancel their rooms. I know it’s concerning, but things will work out one way or another 💕

You'll be fine in Sept. My wedding DID get rescheduled and our new date is in the end of August. You'll be fine. Hey..if your September wedding gets canceled then u only need to reschedule once. If yours gets canceled then that means I have to reschedule mine twice.
