Wedding Rehearsal

Elizabeth, on October 11, 2019 at 4:57 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 15
I am at my cousins wedding rehearsal and I had to step in for the bride because it is apparently bad luck for the bride to walk down the aisle for the rehearsal? When I have my wedding, I was going to rehearse and walk down the aisle. Is it actually bad luck?

All superstitions are just that, superstitions. That's a new one for me, but only you can decide how much you believe it.

I've been in a ton of weddings and i've never once heard that one. Superstitions are only bad luck if you allow them to be.

I've never once heard that and the bride at every rehearsal i've ever been to has walked down the aisle (including myself).

I’ve heard it before but to me all those superstitions are silly! Do what you want to do.

I’ve never heard of that... I enjoyed walking through everything at my rehearsal. If I had heard this superstition before my wedding, I still would have walked the aisle at my rehearsal.

    Hi!

Coming from someone that used to plan weddings, I can only say that it is a good idea. I used to tell my brides that it was a good time for them to step back and look at the wedding as a whole. To make sure everyone is participating and keeping in line with your vision. Think about it, you won’t be able to make those corrects or give your input on your wedding day because you will be too busy.

If you have a friend member or friend that not in the wedding party, please have your coordinator sub them in for you. Take point and listen to the actions of what your coordinator wants you to do by watching that person. It will allow you to have the input that your coordinator and wedding party is doing exactly what you want them to do. Plus it will make the actual moment you walk down the aisle to see your future husband for the first time all the more special.

I don't recall hearing that, but I agree with PPs that it's definitely a matter of preference! You can do whatever makes you comfortable Smiley smile

I walked down the aisle at our rehearsal, I've never heard of it being bad luck. I also don't really believe in "luck" per se, so I don't really care about all the superstitions.

I've never heard of that and I'd wabt to walk down the isle to get a feel for it-how long it'll take, is the isle wide enough, etc

First time I hear of it! I walked down the aisle twice during my rehearsal and same with every rehearsal I have been to. Maybe is a cultural thing.

Out of all the superstitions I've heard of, that's definitely one for the books. I don't even know how these things started but I will still be walking down the aisle at my rehearsal.
