Wedding Registry

Rachael, on June 3, 2019 at 3:54 AM Posted in Planning 0 11
I’m am trying to finish our registry. I have two registry’s one on amazon and one on target. Should I register at more than two places? Should I register for similar items on each registry? My only concern with that is we will get multiple of the same gift. How did everyone else do their registry’s?

We have 3 registries: target, bed bath and beyond, and crate and barrel. We did not register for the same thing gs because I dont want multiple items and having to deal with returns unless necessary. We also spread price points out through each so that people have as many options as possible

I think two places is fine and probably the normal. I registered at 3 locations target, bed bath beyond, and amazon just to give options.

I wouldn’t register for similar items at the different stores. What we did was use MyRegistry.com so that we can add basically anything on the Internet on there. We synced our Bed Bath & Beyond registry and have added a ton of stuff from Amazon, Walmart, Target, and other random stores like Etsy, Disney Store gift cards for our honeymoon as well. We didn’t want to be restricted to a few places.

Two is plenty as long as they cover everything you want/need. I'm not sure why you would register for similar items unless you want duplicates. We registered for very different things at each place. We used BB&B for linens, towels, dishes, and other home decor. At Amazon we registered for camping and fishing gear and a few other random items.

I have The Knot cash funds (like 4), Amazon, and only two items at BBB. So I think 2 is plenty!

Multiple registries are fine, but I definitely wouldn't register for the same, or even similar items between them. We have a BB&B registry for plates and silverware and such for the people who want the option of going into a store, and Amazon for different and bigger items (since Amazon lets people contribute toward a gift instead of having to buy the whole thing).

Like PP have said do not register for anything you don't want. If you don't want 2 toasters, don't register for 2. I registered at Target and Macy's and it worked great.

We registered at Macy’s and Bed Bath and Beyond. I think some guests will only look at 2 registries even if you have 3 or 4 and go from there. (Only my opinion)

Items like kitchen towels, bed sheets, pillows, Tupperware, bath towels, Hans towels, and wash cloths, coasters, ect. things you need more of you can definitely add more than 1 since those you will go through when they get old/very dirty.

Things you add 1 of and make sure they are good brands are things like coffee maker, a good set of pots and pans, vacuum, griddle, ninja blender, food processor, wine glasses, comforter, stemless wine glasses, toaster, set of every day dishes, set of china dishes, set of silverware. The list goes on!
Add one of each that’s a good brand and you truly like because if you add more than 1 “coffee pot” and you receive one of the cheaper of the two or if you didn’t receive the one you liked the least then you will be upset and have to go out of your way to return it, ect. It’s hard to explain but I hope you understand what I’m trying to say lol.

We did a small one at Amazon only. I would register for different items at each place so you don't get multiples. I don't think there is a required number of registries, it is whatever you want to do. We originally didn't have one at all because we weren't planning on having a shower but my MOH is insisting on throwing one so we made a small one for that.
