Wedding reception

Hi ladies! Our wedding is this coming June, and there’s a possibility that our reception will be more a dinner reception (with no cocktail hour - given covid and state restrictions). How do I incorporate taking pictures since there’ll be no cocktail hour?

Are you open to taking pictures before the ceremony? Even if you and your future spouse don’t want to see each other before, you can coordinate pictures without the two of you together and save those until after the ceremony. This will just take a bit of coordination so they don’t run into each other before the ceremony.

Also, how many people are coming to your wedding? I ask because I find with smaller weddings a lot of people like sitting around to watch the photos if you have them after the wedding, so it may not be a problem. But this could also be a “know your crowd” thing.

I don't think after dinner is a terrible idea, if that's something that would work. Otherwise, you could pay for appetizers and drinks for the guests while you do a quick photo session.
