Wedding Reception Food

Dustee, on November 26, 2019 at 7:07 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 24
So what is everyone's wedding reception dinner ideas? I am getting married next October and I can't decide on what to serve. My wedding is not very big (maybe 50 people at most) and my cousin is catering for me. We are doing a simple non expensive small country wedding. Any ideas for not to expensive would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Comfort food like chicken, potatoes, macaroni or potato salad are always a hit.

Or Italian. Or a burger bar.

Ooo yeah that sounds good I might do that. And it wouldn't be very expensive either. Thank you Marcia.

I went to a wedding recently where they basically had a whole hog roasted and served pulled pork with a variety of sauces, and 2 sides (I want to say it was something like green beans and potatoes or macaroni). Simple and tasty!

Mmm that sounds good too. Yeah I want to do something simple easy and filling but not to expensive and a buffet style. Thank you. I will keep that in mind. 😊😊

If you're going for a casual informal feel, catering BBQ in would be a good option!

We’re doing a taco bar! We’ve both been married before and we’ve had our fancy shmancy catered weddings. For us, a taco bar is fun, easy, and very affordable!

Mexican, BBQ and Italian is the most affordable option. You can never go wrong with the wedding usual chicken in some sauce and potatoes mash or roasted, veggies and salad.

We are renting a food truck. There is a great seafood place That is about 3 miles from our venue that’s catering it. Super excited for great seafood.

Pulled pork or brisket perhaps? macaroni and cheese or some type of pasta/potato salad is always a hit.

Taco bar!! Or pasta. We went to about 50-guest wedding that had a pasta station. It was not at all expensive, if you think about it. Few types of pasta, cheese, two sauce options, and other toppings. But it looked so spectacular! the chef was mixing the ingredients in front of you and heating them up on open fire! So fun! The only caveat was the wait - we stood in line for about 20 minutes to get out food. But we had drinks and mingled in the meantime.

That sounds really good. My cousin is going to be catering for us and he will do whatever we want so I'm thinking we might do that. It is a country themed outdoors wedding so that's a great idea. Thanks Catherine.

Our wedding was more on the casual side so we had a taco bar, dessert table and a S'mores bar. All were a huge hit.
