Wedding reception decor

Hi everyone!


Did you use the reception decor that the venue provided? I don’t know if venues typically offer there own reception decor or not but mine does at an extra cost of course. (reasonable) or did you mostly purchase your own? I guess we’re torn between using a set up already from the venue or creating our own reception design/decor? We would like to be able to bring our own visions to life by purchasing our own decor but at the same time we sent quite sure we want to have the hassle/stress of “finding” the right decor. I was just wondering your thoughts/experiences. Thanks in advance 💕

    Next to no venues have their own centerpieces and decor because they are provided by florists and party rental businesses.

    We’re using what’s provided by the venue (at no extra cost). I don’t want to go purchase new things - what am I going to do with it afterwards?

    Yes I should have specified. My venue gets them through a party rental. Was just curious on people’s experiences.

    We’re doing all our own decor. We have a blank slate barn and I wanted to bring my personal touch to it. I’ve had a blast creating and diy’ing a few things like my seating chart and card box and a photo shelf with family pics.

    Our venue offered some decor and included tables, chairs, glassware/plates/flatware, signs, and linens. We chose to bring in our own table, glassware/plates/flatware and linens through a few different rental companies. We also purchased our own lanterns, votives, table runners, signs, etc. It was definitely more expensive and more work on our end, but I had a specific vision that I had to curate my own decor.

    My venue offers us to use their decor for a few and I will be taking FULL advantage so I don’t have to worry about those items and I’ll bring in what I want to add!
