Wedding Reception Activities

Carmen, on May 17, 2021 at 12:35 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 8

I'm not sure what it is called, but I'm looking for an alternative to having a photo booth for guests. I'm not sure what this general topic is called but I'd love to know if anyone has some fun, creative ideas guests at the reception. TIA!

I went to this wedding where they had a photobooth that they also used for guests to make scrapbook pages with but they didnt have dancing so they had other things like a table where guests can write bucketlist and date ideas for them, they had a book where you write in wedding mad-libs advice to them, etc

We have are going to have a photo booth and we got a template from Etsy called I Spy with our wedding hashtag on it so guests can use their phones to take pictures of the items we listed on the card. Example: "I spy the best dancer!" "I spy the bride & groom kissing" etc Smiley smile

I saw a video of one wedding that had cornhole during cocktail hour, that looked super fun!

If it's indoors, I spy or even an activity book (Etsy has a ton of options).

if it's outdoors you have a ton more options. we are doing loads of lawn games, plus a band and seating speed throughout the venue

Our photographer and DJ offer a package that includes games like corn hole, giant Jenga, giant Connect 4, a big inflatable bowling game, and Can Jam. So we are having those because my FH isn't much of a dancer. I've been to several weddings with photo booths or even just a fun curtain with a bunch of props to take photos with. At my best friend's wedding, they put out a book and allowed people to sign with their photo and that was their guestbook. It was REALLY fun looking through it later that night with her!

I had photobooth, bouquet toss and centerpiece giveaway.

Photobooth was a hit. Bouquet toss was good after centerpiece giveaway giving them time to cut the cake. Centerpiece giveaway was instead of who’s bday closest to the wedding date (which was August but party was April) so I wanted to be different there was numbers 1-44 on the placecards so if (you are a couple it was of course one card 1 number) you were the winning number you got one of the centerpieces and people thought it was different and it got the attention.
We were out a lot of the time doing pictures. So I didn’t plan anything else you can mingle and dance. Most people no see each other in a long time so mingle was good enough
