Wedding Program wording

Charlene, on February 28, 2023 at 12:14 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 4

On the template for the wedding program, it lists GRANPARENTS OF THE BRIDE, then the same for the Groom.

There is only one living Grandparent on the Groom's side so should I change the wording to GrandPARENT (single) or leave it to match the wording for the bride... GrandparentS of the Groom?

Grandparents do not have to be living to be listed. You could leave it as grandparents and list both his grandmother and grandfather

I also only have one grandparent on my side but I took out grandparents completely from our program. If you still want to have them listed I think it’s a personal choice. You can still list both but if you want to I don’t think you need to have it match. I altered ours plenty to accommodate what we needed like adding my mother, father and stepfather under parents and taking out parts of the ceremony that didn’t apply to us

I would say Grandfather or Grandmother of the Groom since there is the one remaining grandparent on the groom's side. Grandparents no longer living can be acknowledged on the program too, if that's important to you, but I would reference them elsewhere.

You can skip that. Never seen programs that listed grandparents even when all were living.
