Wedding Postponed what about invitations

Chanie, on March 16, 2020 at 1:59 PM Posted in Planning 0 6

Hello,

So unfortunately like many other brides we have been forced to postpone due to the Coronavirus. While I am disappointed we wont be able to have our wedding on our original date April 19th. I am not tremendously upset because if we kept the original date many of our loved ones would not be able to attend. Our new date is August 30, 2020 (our anniversary date). We have already sent out invitations and received RSVPs in the mail. Should we send out new invitations or just communicate the changes electronically? We spend a good deal on our invitations and stamps and I would hate to have to do that process over again. We have to redo the favor labels, cake topper, and welcome sign with our new date but everything else is good to go.

I think calling guests now (maybe split the list with your FS and parents?) and then doing electronic invitations and replies for your new date is totally appropriate, especially if doing another round of paper invitations would strain your budget.

I’m so sorry this happened to you.

    Im August 30th too! Woo!
As for invites, i wouldnt spend money ordering invitations all over again. You could always send a small card out with a new RSVP or something stating the change of date/time/and so on. For people who already RSVP'd- id communicate with individually. Not worth spending all that money again if you already sent them out.

I'm in the same boat and planning to send evite to our friends. Our parents will be calling family members and updating their guests. I was still missing 100 RSVPs the first time around and I doubt it will change this time so I'm definitely not spending more time and effort to remake & deliver new invite.

I would do electronic! Much easier and guests will completely understand. Best of luck.
