Wedding postponed- struggling with date

Madalena, on April 14, 2020 at 3:09 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 5
Hi everyone,

So my wedding was supposed to be April 25, then for obvious reasons was rescheduled to July 11. I'm now worrying about July based on things I'm seeing here and hearing from other people and places. Also concern if we have it in July I may have to forgo my shower and bachelorette party, which I was really looking forward to. I have an opportunity to push again to September but I'm not sure if I should so it. My fear is I'd push to September only for July to be fine and there to be a second wave in September. I have no idea what to do! We're in the Philly area by the way if that means anything

It’s so tough to give any advice on this because no one knows anything! We postponed our April 18th wedding to August 30th. And we’re still fearful it won’t work out, but at the same time we understand that businesses have to be up and running and can’t last shut down forever. So it’s a really tough call! Personally I would wait until end of May to make your choice. Things change so drastically here!

Same boat here. Cancelled our April 11th date for July 11th but not having a reception at this point given what the professionals are saying about fully expecting rolling lockdowns thru the summer. But honestly it really depends on what part of the country/world you are in and when your community is impacted. We are planning on keeping July 11th for the ceremony and inviting anyone who feels comfortable to attend but planning on keeping it small and only doing like a cocktail hour. Not sure when we’ll get to do an actual celebration.

We were also April 25th but we pushed it back to September 13th. I'm not super worried about it yet, but waiting until August to see if we'll need to reschedule again.

I wouldn't worry until early June. We have a few months still! I was a 4/18 bride but had postpone to 8/1. If we all do our part now and stay home, we can prevent losing the summer and a second wave severe enough to close everything down again.

    Hi there,

This is definitely a crazy stressful and uncertain time for everyone! It seems like a lot of July brides are waiting a few more weeks before making postponement decisions, but everyone's situation is different and it never hurts to be proactive about plan b!

You also aren't alone right now! ❤️ There are a ton of July brides also talking about their Covid-19 concerns in this discussion:

June and July Brides do not stress Covid-19!!!

And here's another discussion specifically about July 2020 Weddings! OsQM71bUJ0Qu4ly8UKJOrw-4MNRCjpvLo-YljRdj

I'm so sorry you had to change your plans, but I'm so glad you've locked down a new date!! BOpClAR83wqJF1bFtFERgypV_BICZsbBvwcIMhTa

Stay positive and hang in there!! You've bought yourself a lot more time and hopefully more peace of mind!
