Wedding Postponed Due to Covid-19 - Name on Airline Ticket Issue!

Hi All,

I was supposed to get married 4.11.2020, but the universe had other plans. I am now getting married 8.15.2020. I just realized that I have several trips in July and I booked my tickets (months ago) using my new name, since I'd be married and have plenty of time to update my passport between April and July. Wellllll, now I will still have my maiden name when I board those flights.

What should I do?

I've attempted to call the airlines several times, but, naturally, they have bigger fish to fry right now.

I think your best bet is to call customer service. Your name on your ID and ticket MUST match. There is usually a fee, but if you talk to someone maybe you can persuade them in the name of customer service with all that is going on to waive the fee.

I don’t know how all the paperwork works but maybe you can change your name legally now since you will be changing it anyway 🤷🏽‍♀️

Hi Charlotte! I know that must be so frustrating! I would continue trying to contact the airline's customer service and see if they can change the name on your ticket for you. If you're not having luck reaching them over the phone, maybe try looking for a customer service email or reaching out to them through social media. I hope you're able to get this resolved soon so you'll have that stress off your mind.
