Wedding postponed- dress fever

Cynthia, on September 16, 2020 at 9:52 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8
I was suppose to get married September 25, 2020 but we pushed it to September 26, 2021 back in June. I got my dress back in October 2019. I love my dress, but I keep finding myself looking and loving all these new ones I see online. I keep feeling tempted to go dress shopping again. I feel like I rushed my initial appointments (only went to Two places in one day), and didn’t really enjoy the bridal moments. Am I the only one feeling this? Of course I won’t get a new one due to finances but I cannot shake the urge to shop again.

If you don't intend to buy a new dress, I strongly suggest not going to look for another one. It wouldn't be good to fall in love with a different dress and not be able to buy it, and you also risk not liking your original dress as much because of it. Maybe try on your original dress again? Trying it on may remind you of why you bought it in the first place. If you're looking for a change, are there any alterations that can be done to improve it?

I agree with PP. I love my dress & can totally see me marrying the man of my dreams in it! I only looked once at other dresses after I purchased my dress, then thought “what the heck are you doing????” Never looked again.

I've been feeling this way too. I love my dress but sometimes I wonder if I made a mistake choosing it so quickly (got it on my second appointment too). Now I have an entire extra year to wait due to covid and the temptation to look for another gets to me lol.

I'm trying to avoid following bridal brands on IG, stopped watching Say Yes to the Dress, lol and am considering a reception dress.

If you don't have the budget for a new dress I would not recommend going to a store again! You're bound to find something else you also like and it could make these dress feelings even worse!

If you still love your dress but just feel like you missed those bridal moments, then don't worry and just wait for your dress to come in! That was a big bridal moment for me!! You've been waiting so long and have forgotten how much you love your dress and get to finally try yours on! That's when I also first tried on veils with my dress and it felt so real! Smiley heart

I am so glad you get me. I think I need to unsubscribe and stop watching SYTTD as well.

I probably should try it on again. I have it at my aunt’s house. I take a peek every time I go by. Though I may not want to try it until I lose the extra pounds I put on during quarantine

Thank you for the reminder. I should not go get more. I still need to get my veil and accessories, so I need to look forward to that.

Haha. That is some strong determination not to look again. I definitely need to stop looking.
