Your photographer should be directing you! We definitely didn’t know what to do but she would give us cues on what to do and then got us laughing, etc. A good photographer should be able to help you and also get candids.

It’s always a good idea to get to know each other and let them see your personalities ahead of time. But if they’re professionals they’ll know how to bring the best out in you. Just relax and have fun on your big day!!

My photographer got the most awesome picture when she said "Walk toward me and pretend you're drunk." We had legitimate laughing smiles, it was perfect. But my absolute favorite picture is one of us in mid-dance.

I was very worried about this too and our photos turned out great! The photographer has done this so many times, they will be able to direct you! And your natural joy/happiness/love really comes out in the photos which makes them great! Also, don’t feel bad speaking up. If a pose feels awkward or uncomfortable, tell your photographer and they will move on to something else!

YES!! This is the last thing you need to worry about. Your photographer's JOB is to make you both feel comfortable AND look good.

Our photographer did a GREAT job of making us feel comfortable so we don't look stiff in our engagement photos. One thing you said, about whispering inside jokes in his ear, is actually something she told us to do for our laughing photos. We also did the drunk walk, which caused all kinds of hysterics and we got some really great photos from it. Your photographer should be able to instruct you on how to look natural and what to do! Ours would even stop mid-pose if one of us looked stiff to move us so we didn't.
