Wedding Plates and Table

I am trying to decide if it is worth spending a lot of money on plates for the wedding. Our wedding guest count is around 40 people. Our theme for the wedding is rustic/western and our main colors are blush pink and turquoise/teal. Our venue has the round tables with white tablecloths, I was going to use the blush pink runners and the wooden lanterns as centerpieces. I really like the teal plates but I'm not sure if it would look good with the pink table runner and centerpieces. Is that something that would look good? Also, is it worth spending this much money on the plates when I can go to Costco and get the 50ct white elegant plates for about $10. We are not going to be serving a dinner, we will just be having appetizers and a dessert bar.Opinions?

Personally, I think the teal plates on top of a pink tablecloth would elicit more of a gender reveal party vibe than a wedding. I would do either no table runner and the colored plates or colored table runners and white plates.

I think the plastic plates are fine if that is the look you want. If cost is an issue, no one will notice that the other option is discounted from Costco. Unlike pp, I would never think you were going for baby shower colors. What you have in mind is beautiful.

I would always go with good plates for any occasion, guest count, or menu. Not only are they more durable, but you can express your personal style. Have you thought about the look of your utensils, because the ones in the photo are a rare find to match. I like the teal with a teal runner and clear or gold disposable cutlery. Or pink runner with white plates and clear or gold cutlery. Or no runner and colored plate settings. You might even find a nice set at resale stores if willing to go non-disposable. There's no "just" when it comes to your wedding so don't be afraid to go after your vision. Just adjust your budget to make sure the final result is within your means. Best wishes
