Wedding planning

My main tip is to get a wedding planner if you are feeling overwhelmed. If that’s not possible follow the checklist on this website and the budget tool. If the venues are too expensive then maybe think outside the box. Public government venues are usually more affordable. Parks, court houses, community centers, etc. If someone has a big enough backyard you could do a very nice backyard wedding, however I think backyard weddings are hard to make look really nice unless you have someone who knows what they’re doing. Maybe push your wedding date to give yourself more time to plan/save if needed.

Thank you. I have gotten a wedding planner/coordinator it has made it much easier. I will definitely be looking into community centers and parks.

View Quoted Comment Also think outside the box! Many restaurants have lovely private rooms for small parties. There you don't need to worry about catering or bathrooms . (😁) Some churches have halls to rent (you don't have to be a member) and they usually have a kitchen to use, so tour caterers have a nice set up. I would definitely have insurance for that route, as well as any other non-traditional site.

I also highly recommend Pinterest to see how things would look together and look at different vibes and aesthetics. You can also get some good ideas there. Also Reddit, Brides, and Vogue Weddings.
