Wedding planning sucks

Damaris, on October 16, 2016 at 9:47 PM Posted in Planning 0 8

Six months left and I haven't done anything except putting a down payment on the reception hall and buy my dress. I feel like canceling it. And just travel with my fiancé! This is to much..

Go to the courthouse or elope.

You have to take it one step at a time. List out things to do and then divide and conquer with the FH. Typically friends and family are more than willing to help as well. You could also potentially hire out help. Or, if you really want, just elope Smiley smile.

Why do you think you're having such a hard time getting going with planning?

At this moment I wish I would have chosen a destination wedding ( like a beautiful Caribbean place) for all the money we are spending, the bridal party drama, my mother and I are clashing, getting frustrated with the little simple DIY things left to do, ughh. I thought I would enjoy planning my wedding but for the past few months it has been frustrating, ijs. Hope your experience gets better. I have 40 days to go!

If you don't like planning, who actually wants the big wedding? Him, you, both, or neither? If it's you, you have to think about whether it's worth the grief (or whether you have the money for a planner to get rid of a lot of the grief). If it's him, then he ought to be doing the planning. If it's neither, then cancel the big wedding and have an intimate wedding (destination or otherwise).

If you don't want to plan, you could hire a wedding planner. That can get pretty expensive though, that's why I ended up skipping it and self planning. If you hate planning that bad though, the extra expense might be worth it for you

Why do you feel like you want to cancel it? Do you have a different wedding in mind? Trust your gut!!
