Is it common or expected to send your entire digital wedding album that the photographer sends you to the entire guest list? I have never heard of that and my MIL has forwarded it to everyone. I am not happy with her doing that. What are the typical expectations of wedding guests access to our professional photos?

As a guest, I don't expect to have access to all of the photos (with the exception of immediate family).

This is not ok. Can you ask your photographer to change the password on the album so they don’t have access?

That's awkward. Why would your MIL even have the photographer's email? You can ask your photographer to put a password on it, and have a response ready if asked. In your thamk you cards, you can include your approved photos.

That was way out of line. Hopefully there’s a password on it! The only person who I forwarded the entire suite of photos to was my mom.

The photographer I'm using allows anyone (that we give access to) to order prints/albums/the whole nine. So I could see why someone would send it out. But without your permissions seems a little strange to send out to the entire guest list.

My husband shared the google album with his mom. It was meant to be for just his parents, but they forwarded it to their entire family and friends, many of whom I didn't meet till our wedding day. If this was how people handled it I would have made a small album with only about 100 pictures that everyone can see. I just don't think its appropriate for people that are strangers to me to see me getting ready and our first look photos. I am enraged and trying to not be.

My husband sent a google album to just his mom and she sent it out to everyone. Damage is done.

I didn't even give everything to my mom. Just some of them. I didn't want a wedding, just the marriage. So I would have loved to elope. We did a first look and I didn't want anyone to see those photos or be able to print them for their house but us. That was our compromise, but she didn't respect that. So many boundaries crossed.

    Eek!
Is there a way to recall the email messages for those who haven’t opened or remove the album from google and relocate it to a new location so no one has access?

No that is not common. Talk to the photographer about changing the password.

I’ve never heard of that. And honestly, as a guest, I wouldn’t want it lol. You picking and choosing a couple to share in social media, or wherever, is good enough.

You need to have a talk with your husband, and then he needs to have a talk with his mother. I can understand your husband not knowing any better, but his mother certainly should have.

That doesn't sound common and ask the photographer to change the password.

I would be livid with my MIL if she pulled something like that. Create a password for that google album immediately! Or if you don't want it to look as awkward since it was already sent, delete most of the photos from the album and only leave a few to share. Your MIL was way out of line and this is not ok

Wow no. That’s not cool. I would definitely put a password on that.

That's totally not okay. I would definitely put a password on it. I would have just sent it to immediate family and potentially the bridal party.
