Curious if anyone has taken their wedding photos before the wedding to save time?

This is pretty common with couples who do "first look," and the reason many choose to do one. Daughter and SIL's first look was at 1:30, they then did photos -- alone and with the wedding party -- until about 2:45. Everyone hung out in what we called the "sequester room" from 2:45-3:30, out of sight of arriving guests. Ceremony was at 3:30. During cocktail hour, the B&G took pictures with extended family for about 20 min, then a few more shots alone and with wedding party to take advantage of the last of the daylight. It worked very well for them. Good luck!

We took pre-ceremony and post-ceremony photos.

My FH and I will be doing a first look and having as many photos done before the ceremony as we can get in. I was given a tip that I hadn't thought of with this: make sure you think about the photos you want taken before the ceremony as you won't have your wedding ring on yet. Talk with your photographer and make sure they are aware of this. If that doesn't bother you than not an issue, but I definitely want wedding photos with my wedding ring on.
