Hey everyone!! So I’m curious, I’m shopping around for photography and so far we have been quoted $3,000 for 6 hours which will include the edited, high resolution digital prints. What are some of your prices you’re paying/paid or ideas of a good budget? I originally was going to go with the photographer that was included in our venue but I’m not a fan of his quality of prints. Our wedding is small-micro. our actual ceremony is only 15 min however, I’m looking for pre, during and post wedding photos. I want thought into the photos and beautiful captures (first look, getting ready etc kind of pics). I’m not really sure how long this stuff takes to even really give a realistic ball park.😞maybe coming here will help me decide if this is a good price or if I should keep looking.
If you want pre, during, and post photos I would definitely hire the photographer for 6-8 hours. Since your wedding is a micro wedding I feel like the 6 hours would be enough depending on the timing of your event. Will it still be the standard 4-5 hours? Or shorter?
My photographer for 6 hours is about the same price, I'm having a wedding with about 70 people but I don't want all the getting ready shots.

Thank you!! From the sounds of it, much shorter. Probably about an hour or so because they do not do receptions services and I’m not really having one, just a celebratory dinner at the house we’re renting then going out for the evening to celebrate. I am taking into consideration the amount of time getting ready and then during the ceremony-We’re having a sunset beach l wedding so of course I’m going to want pics there. I haven’t decided if I want pics if us at the house after the wedding but this helps knowing it sounds accurate, I’m just now diving into that part of the budget. our wedding is just our wedding party and their plus one’s for the most part

Thank you for sharing! Our wedding is so small. Literally just us and our few girls in the wedding party and whomever they bring as far as “audience” goes. We’re having a sunset beach wedding.
We paid $2,000 for 6 hours of photography (same package as yours) plus 4 hours of videography in CA. Six hours was plenty of time and if we needed extra time, which we didn't, I think it was extra $100 an hour. The pre-wedding/ceremony/ cocktail hour was about 2 hours of photography and then reception lasted 4 hours (we didn't really need pictures last 1/2 hour since there was no grand send off planned).

Thank you for sharing! We aren’t having a traditional reception so that eliminates some time maybe I should explain that to her too! That when I say post I mean like after the ceremony on the beach lol thanks again!
We paid $4000 for a package that included an engagement shoot, a 10x10 album, and 8 or 9 hours (CA). With all the changes, our photographers were gracious enough to change it to a couple hours for our ceremony and then an adventure shoot in Yosemite a month later. We actually went over our initial budget on photography. I say spend the money on a photographer you love because at the end of the day, your pictures are going to be the only tangible memory of your wedding (other than your spouse and wedding certificate!).
I went through Tolman Media and got a bundle package for 1800$
We paid $5000 for our photography package and it included a 1-hour engagement shoot, 10 hours of coverage the day of the wedding with a second shooter, and a 30-page wedding album. We live in a high cost of living city so that factored into the price as well.
We found an up and coming photographer who takes great pictures and is charging us $700 for 5 hours. The first two hours will be the groom and bridal portraits. The other 3 will cover the ceremony, cake cutting, and our first dance.
