Hello everyone! My Fiancé and I are working on picking out our wedding photographer, we found a girl that we really like but we are wondering do you all think that 7 hours of coverage is enough time? Thank you for all of your help!

7 is enough if that’s what works for your budget. I did 7 hours. Ceremony was at 4, we had a shorter reception. I considered adding an a la carte extra hour but chose not to

We have 8 hours of coverage. We’re not doing a grand exit or anything like that so we’ll probably have the photographer leave before the reception is over. Our ceremony is at 430 so we’ll start pictures maybe around 2 and go til 10. Our reception should be over about that time anyway. If you’re not having a grand exit you can just have the photographer leave after the important stuff of the reception and some dancing.

It depends on your budget and what you want to cover. I wanted a few, not many, getting ready pictures, and I don’t care about a grand exit since we’re going to an after party right afterward anyway. We booked our photographer for 8 hours and she’ll have a 2nd shooter for that entire time.
Photos will be from 11-7; first look is at 1, ceremony at 3, reception ending at 9. I don’t really care about all the drunk dancing pics by the end of the night which is why we opted for 8 instead of 10 hours of coverage.

Welcome to the WeddingWire community Tricia!

As the pps mentioned, this is totally dependant on your personal wedding plans and what you want your photographer to capture. Do you want to capture some ‘getting ready’ photos, a first look or any other photos before your ceremony starts? How long will your reception be on? Do you want your photographer to stay for the entire reception to capture a grand exit, or is that not something that you want?

If you realize that you want your photographer for longer if it possible to pay for additional hours after you have made your final booking?
