Wedding Photo Scavenger Hunt

Mrscarothers2022, on June 15, 2021 at 11:25 AM Posted in Planning 0 4

Hello!

We are not a conventional couple. We prefer things to be more fun and unique as opposed to traditional and boxed-in. We are really wanting to have a wedding photo scavenger hunt (or I Spy) during our wedding and reception. Has anyone ever heard stories of this being done or considered doing it yourself?

I think it's fine to set up if you want it, but my guess is most people would not participate. If you prefer not to have dancing, etc most people are fine to just chat and mingle!

Would you be replacing dancing with the scavenger hunt? If so, as a guest I wouldn't be a fan, just because I personally love the dancing portion of weddings!

It could be fun to incorporate it into your reception along with dancing, but I wouldn't have it during your actual wedding ceremony. You want your guests to focus on you and your spouse during the ceremony, not trying to complete their scavenger hunt card. It's a fun idea in theory, I'm just wondering how many people will actually participate.

I’m doing this for the kids at our wedding and providing each child with their own camera (a cheap $20 one). I’m excited to see them doing it and creating their “perfect” photos!

I am not a big fan of the traditional wedding templates. We are not having dancing, so we will be doing this as well as the shoe game & possibly some others. I am considering an “incentive” to playing the game (e.g. whoever gets the most/best pics gets a prize & announcing the winner via FB or something). This is a great way to get candid pictures of all your guests too. Honestly, I considered a game of “Who Dunnit” but that would be a little too much extra work I think. There are groups that do that sort of thing if you’re interested in something really unconventional.
