It really depends on where your having your wedding, since some vendors really try to charge you more throughout the year so they extend their seasons, but normally may-october tend to be the peak months, while everything else is considered off season (I have seen some places include april)

I am a vendor, but I am also getting married in 2011. I have found that the peak times in my area are April through December. And New Years and Valentines Day.

That being said, I have changed my wedding date from a September 9/10/11 date to a March 3/31/11 date; just so I can save on the venue that I want.

It is pretty safe to say that January through March are not peak months, with the exceptions already mentioned.

I think the nicer weather months, such as the spring months and the begining of fall months are the most popular

In my area they say that March-May is prime time and then it dies down for a little and then September-Novemeber begins a second prime time. I live in the south so the summer months are not considered peak months.

As noted by others, this probably varies region to region. Having been in the wedding business for over a decade in Washington DC/Baltimore/No.Virginia area, I can tell you that in that region, the four peak months are May, June, September, and October. (With September and October -- at least through mid-October VERY popular, easily rivaling the traditional May-June peak months).

Again referring to my region, July and August are also fairly strong, so some vendors around here would say the "season" runs from May to October.

Frankly, I find that April is also very busy, although I continue to charge an off-peak rate for that month.

And January/February/March are absolutely the slowest months.

Finally, if you're asking because you're interested in taking advantage of off-peak discounts from vendors, keep in mind that many vendors give a discount for a Friday or Sunday wedding even within the peak months.

    Hope this helps!

I'd agree that it varies by region. Here in Michigan, May through October. We've got six weddings in five weeks this October--it's definitely part of the busy season, especially this year for some reason.

I was thinking of changing my date but my FH says that he wants to keep everything the same. He has actually gotten more excited than me since we made our minds up to do a Ed Hardy theme

Yeah I have learned that October is a huge wedding month in Florida. We picked it because it is towards the end of hurricane season yet doesn't run into the holidays. Apparently everyone else has the same idea, lol.

May to October for me! I had every Saturday booked for all six months and July was my busiest with 15 ceremonies!

It depends on the state, for example I live in Florida and the peak season is different, October to February. This might help: http://proeventdecor.wordpress.com/2013/02/06/best-month-for-a-wedding-in-south-florida/
