That could work! you could just have them stand there before the guests take their seats i guess.

I guess it would work as long as it didn't take guests too long to be seated. It would be hard to be a bridesmaid/groomsmen and stand at the alter for 30+ minutes while everyone arrived and sat down, then another 30+ minutes for the ceremony.

I agree with Stacey to have them enter from the side right before the groom. In my experience people arrive up to 30 minutes early to the ceremony and that’s a long time to just stand there. You can do whatever works for you. Good luck!

Exactly this! At my wedding the groom and groomsmen entered from the side single file and just lined up in place - you could do the same thing with the bridesmaids!
