OK we are on a tight budget. Is it our responsibility to pay for out wedding party's dresses and suits? What proper etiquette?

Attendants are responsible for their own clothing and hair/makeup. If you have a certain look that you must stick to down to the last detail or else, then it's your bill.

They are responsible. however if you are deciding what they are wearing then you need to make sure it can be in their budget so you need to talk to them about that

The bridal party generally plays for their own attire. You should speak with each person individually to see what their budget is so that you don't pick a dress that is out of their budget.

Nope, the wedding party is generally expected to pay for their own attire. As the PPs have mentioned, pick dresses and suit rentals that are within their budget

They'll pay for their own attire, as stated. The only "thing" here you'd pay for is if you require professional hair and makeup - if you require it, you have to pay for it.

Everyone has already answered about the clothing but there are lots of other expenses to consider with bridal parties. Other things that can be more expensive the more people you have in your bridal party: flowers, gifts, rehearsal dinner, transportation, food the morning/afternoon of the wedding, table settings (to include all their dates).

Completely agree. I’m thankful for only one bridesmaid. With the makeup, gifts, ect I couldn’t imagine having six bridesmaids on a budget lol. My MOH paid for her dress. I offered but she said no. I am paying for the professional makeup as I am requesting it, not her.

Yep, sometimes we forget about those, but yes the wedding party is not expected to pay for their flowers or rehearsal dinner, etc.

Bridal parties usually pay for their own, unless the dress is extremely expensive. It's always best to talk to your BMs and find out what their budget is so you can be budget conscious of their needs as well.

I've never heard of the bride & groom paying for wedding party attire. As long as you consult them prior about their budgets, they can pay for it.
