wedding party responsibility cards?

Dee, on May 2, 2009 at 7:47 PM Posted in Planning 0 3

I'm having my engagement party this month...and thought to give out cards to my wedding party with what they should do. Is that tacky? My maid of honor said to just e-mail it to them, that way they'll have it in their inbox and won't loose it. Should i do both or just the e-mail thing?

2) I have such a big wedding party (14) that I think i can't come up with things for all of them to do...I would like them to feel like they contributed in some way...I need help!

Hi...whether you decide to give them a card about it or send an email, I think it is a little too early judging by your wedding date. However, if you do want to do it this early because you are organized I would steer away from a card. When you get a card you tend to think of it as a good thing and you don't want to offend anyone by giving them a card with a list of responsibilities in it. I think an email is appropriate enough. OR you could do a bridesmaid newsletter and generalize what you will need help doing and ask everyone if they would be able to help if you call on them. With your MOH...she will definitely have specific things that you can address with her personally as opposed to sending a newsletter. I would still include her on the newsletter email list. If you can't come up with stuff for everyone, ask them what they would like to help with. Or keep it simple and just ask all of them to help you through the day with no stress!

    Dee,

You have ample time to make all kinds of decisions, as to what you would like each of your bridesmaids duties to be. Take your time!!!! You have more than a year to get things together, alot of things can change from month to month. I think it's great that you have chosen your bridal party, and haven't even celebrated your engagement.

Take your time and plan wisely,

    Best Wish on your engagement.
