They paid for their own things. The girls I asked their budget and for the men we picked out tuxes and they went and got measured and paid for them.

I got my BMs dresses. They’re not super well off (neither am I), so it was a nice gesture.

For a while, I didn’t know what I wanted them to wear, and they were pretty passive about my original ideas, so while I was getting my dress at David’s Bridal, it was pretty obvious they liked the dresses she had them try on, so I got those for them.

The wedding party is paying for their items. However, before selections were made, we asked for a comfortable range that wouldn't put them out of house and home. For the girls, makeup is an option, and I am covering their hair.

My wedding party paid for their items. PLEASE do ask for a comfortable range! I am in a friends wedding soon and paid almost half of what I spent on my WEDDING DRESS for her bridesmaid dress of choice.

Also, if you're stuck on choices for the bridesmaids, ask their opinions. The dress I was told to buy for this wedding is one I won't ever wear again, same with the shoes.

If you are requiring them to have their hair/makeup done, you should cover that.

My bridesmaids paid for their dress but I made sure to find an affordable dress at Davids Bridal that fit my image. I have also given them an option to do their makeup or pay for the makeup artist I am hiring. I gave the girls the option but still may end up paying for their makeup as a gift or paying $50 of the price.

They’re all covering their own expenses for everything. They signed up for that without discussion or expectation. I did ask a comfortable range for all the things they’ll have to purchase. I don’t intend on going to the maximum of their budget.

I feel like they should already know that they have to pay for there outfit/dresses.

I paid for my BM's just because I felt uncomfortable essentially charging my friends for the honor of standing up in my wedding. I found gorgeous Calvin Klein dresses at a department store for like $50 on clearance.

They guys did pay for the own suits, but we bought them ties and new shirts. I think my H was thinking that at least the guys will wear the suit again, so they didn't mind paying - but since we wanted specific shirts and ties, we covered that.

They paid for their own but for the groomsmen we did buy aspects of their outfits like the bowtie and suspenders. We did offer to help them pay for their portions if they needed help

My girls will pay for their own dresses. I picked the color and style from Azazie and told them to pick what they would feel most comfortable wearing based on body type as well as budget; they can wear whatever shoes they want (same color of course) and I'm giving them the option of hair and makeup that I will help them with if they need; again staying within budget. The guys will do rentals; FH will purchase their bow ties, and socks (small wedding party; 3 girls and 3 guys). We've had the financial discussions and were upfront with everyone that if they needed help to please PLEASE let us know and we will help with the cost; we know that it is a lot.

It's standard to have the wedding party pay for their attire but I was clear that they would be paying for them and I would provide jewelry and shoes!

We all went to Davids Bridal and they looked at dresses in their price ranges and ended up finding a dress that everyone loved and so everyone got the same dress! I told them they could pick any dresses they wanted as long as it was knee length or longer and had straps but secretly I'm kind of glad they all decided on the same dress haha
