Wedding on a budget

Shyanne, on April 20, 2020 at 1:57 PM Posted in Planning 0 11
Hey guys. So, we got engaged in March and have been looking for a venue for our December/January. I’m a college student and my fiancé works full time. We are looking for a venue and I can’t find anything under $1,500. Does anyone know of ANY venue that we could rent out for less than $1,500. I am willing to do decorations and such myself. I have looked and looked for a venue and found nothing that is less than that amount. Anything will help.

Your location would help, along with how many guests you plan to have and what you want included for under $1,500.

Rent a picnic shelter at a park (choose one in a less populated section), see if your college rents spaces to students at a discount, nontraditional venues (try to think outside the box), rent a room at a restaurant (it will be mostly all-inclusive, so you'll save money overall), look at your city's municipal building or parks and recreation department to see what types of rooms they rent, etc

How about renting an Airbnb house for a night?
We have a small budget wedding too and found a beautiful large house with 7 bedrooms and a beautiful yard for $550 a night.

Try city banquet halls or community centers. We haven't booked ours yet, but that's what we're looking into. Where I live, we found one that rents the facility for $90/hour with a refundable $200 deposit. These seem to be the most cost effective outside of holding the ceremony in someone's house.

Based on a quick search, Dallas has plenty of rec centers so start with that. Since they're city owned, the prices are usually more affordable.

I suggest firehalls and other community halls like others have mentioned! The cost to rent my venue was only $600

We’re renting an Airbnb but make sure to check with the host to make sure they’re ok with hosting a wedding.

Depends on where you are looking. Community centers can be cheaper and still nice. I found a golf course for $900, we get it Friday-sunday and have use of the whole building.
