We didn’t get our officiant a gift, but we did give her a $50 tip.

We got her a custom mug since she's a coffee lover.

Since she’s a family friend we gave her and everyone else in the bridal party a gift. We got her perfume. If you’re hiring your officiant I don’t think a gift is necessary

We did because it was my husband's uncle. If it was a paid professional, we would have tipped them like any other vendor.

Our friend is officiating (he is doing our ceremony and his wife is signing our papers). We are planning on getting them both gifts, but have not decided what yet, and might just give them a collective "couples" gift since they are both having a part.

If we were hiring a professional we'd just offer a tip or a small token. I think getting a gift for someone you don't know well or have a relationship with is always a bit awkward.
