Wedding Night Lingerie - how did you find yours?

Following because I'm curious as well -

But my real question is... do couples even do anything the night of their wedding? I feel like I would be completely passed out lol

I really wanted some nice lingerie for our wedding night/honeymoon as well. I can't wear any of it actually under my dress because of the open back but I've been looking around. Even if it isn't worn on the wedding night, I'll have a whole honeymoon I could use it on, lol!

VS has crap variety for this stuff. I feel like as a teenager, or even pre-engagement, I used to see bridal things in VS like bridal lingerie. Now its just the run of the mill white lace looks like every other thing in the store. They do have pretty and comfy silk nighties so I might end up snagging one of those for the honeymoon but so far I've only found what I want on Amazon, but I'm afraid to order from there for the sake it doesn't fit.

I plan to order from this place, but I'm much more into romantic and lacey lingerie than trying to look hot. My fella prefers pretty over risque.

Right?! I feel the same way about VS - and we're not crazy because when I search for what I want, I tend to find discontinued styles from past seasons. Definitely got this image in my mind from the occasional trip into the store as a teenager, when I'd think, YES someday I will wear that!

Also disappointed by the selection on Adore Me - I'm a subscriber from way back, but I've been looking since I got engaged and they still only have one white bustier and it's plus size

We're only having our reception go until 10 and hiring a town car to take us straight home, for that reason. But we've been waiting for religious reasons so it's doubly important for me to find the perfect ensemble!

I'll be following as well... It's difficult for me to find anything because I'm a little heavier set. I think Amazon allows some of their items in their Wardrobe program so you can try before you buy.

I haven’t gone looking for any of that yet, but a friends of mine who got married was given lingerie. The MOH organized an intimate bridal shower. The ladies in her court and any other friends that were invited gave her different types of lingerie or items to use for the night of the wedding. My MOH wants to do the same, I’m a little more on the shy side so we’ll see lol, but my friend loved hers

If you’re not familiar with lingerie then you need to go into a store other than VS(their sizing never seems right to me) and try to pick out a couple things you might like to try on. I’d recommend a Fredericks of Hollywood, or any trusted local lingerie shop. Then once you a get a feel of what you want and what size works for you, you can always buy online (if you don’t find the EXACT piece you’re looking for).
Some cheap options are Yandy.com, Lace.com and Forever21 even has some good pieces. Some pricier options would be Bare Necessities, and Agent Provocateur. (Also Ive heard good things about Yandy, Torrid, lane bryant, and Uye Surana’s plus sizes pieces)

I'm also struggling to find pretty stuff for our honeymoon. I like silk and lace and French lingerie.

I think BHLDN has gorgeous lingerie, also Nordstrom has pretty stuff! although it can get pricey but I think I may treat myself for the wedding night just this once

Try looking for local shops. I know a small one that has lots of cute wedding outfits along with other things. But it’s not a big name brand place it’s one of those small ones.

Your best bet is probably order online from some places and try on at home. Just send back what you don't like. obviously check return policies first but I like VS accepts returns and they have much better selection online. amazon has great stuff you just have to invest the time to search for it. nordstrom, bhldn, yandy, la senza.. just google sexy lingerie or bridal lingerie and see what you find to your taste! I wear lingerie most every night so i shop for it often and usually just splurge on nicer pieces for special occasions. yandy and amazon are my go-to for budget purchases and VS or nordstrom usually for nicer pieces. also think about what your FH really likes.. for example, maybe white isn't so much his thing as black or red? you can go outside the box to suit his taste!

Thanks for all the suggestions! I may try a combination of these. Unfortunately doesn't look like a Fredericks exists less than 5 hours from me, but I'll probably try at least one local shop - just hard for me because I'm kind of shy about that stuff lol!

Haha I will definitely be getting some other colors for different nights of the honeymoon, etc. But I don't think he cares much about colors! I like the tradition and the symbolism of white. Thanks for the suggestions, maybe I will try ordering online and returning, good idea!
