Wedding night hotel

I can’t decide where to book mine and curious what others are doing. Are you reserving a room out of your hotel blocks or going somewhere else? I originally wanted to stay at a local resort but we will be leaving for our honeymoon the day after the wedding and the resort is 30 minutes from the airport so I want to be closer by since we’ll have to take a taxi. I don’t know how I feel about waking up in the morning and having to have breakfast with his parents to kick off our married life so I was thinking about getting a room somewhere we didn’t get a block.

If enough people book rooms through our hotel block, we get a complimentary honeymoon suite. We’re not leaving for our honeymoon until a week after the wedding and our venue is only about 30 minutes from our house. We both love our bed so much we’re planning on going home that night-if we have the complimentary room we may or may not change our minds and decide to use it. I think it would be totally fine booking your room in the same hotel as the rest of your guests!

Many couples host a brunch for their guests the morning after or meet up with people, especially if they have out of town guests. I don’t see why that’s a big deal. I would stay at the hotel where you have a room block, especially if they’re offering you a free or discounted room.

We are doing an air bnb. I’ll be staying there the night before so I won’t see him ahead of time. All my girls will come over in the morning to get ready since our venue doesn’t have a bridal suite and me and my new hubby will be staying there two nights after the wedding until we leave for our honeymoon

We are staying in the same hotel our block is at. There is a bar there and we plan to have an after party Smiley smile

We reserved a suite in our main hotel block. We stayed Thursday night to Sunday morning and enjoyed it. We got to see our guests way more & say goodbye to everyone.

We had a destination wedding and flew down the Tuesday before our Saturday wedding, so we already had a room at our venue Tuesday-Sunday. (I left for my bachelorette Wed-Fri, but my now husband stayed in the room the whole time.)

The distance was about 20-25 minutes to the airport for our honeymoon the next morning, and the hotel booked us a RT car service and added it to our master bill, which was really helpful. Our pickup was at 6:00 am and the only person I saw besides my husband was my new MIL, who I passed off some wedding stuff to to take back home.

If I were you, I'd stay at your resort and then just have breakfast alone in your room, or get to the airport early and have breakfast there. 30 minutes really isn't much of a commute to the airport and you don't have to see anyone if you don't want to.
