So our venue is 5 min from our house and initially we would have just slept at home wedding night and then go on our honeymoon. But now we won’t be going on a honeymoon. I’m thinking we could stay at a hotel for a night or two after the wedding? Would an Airbnb be nicer? The closest “nice” hotel to us (it’s just a casino and hotel) is about 30 min away. What would you do??
We went home. Our honeymoon wasn't until 5 months later.
We nearly stayed at a hotel, but since no one took our hotel blocks, it was too expensive... I'm glad we went home, it was much nicer to sleep in and not worry about a check out time.
The plan we currently have in place is just do a long weekend at the hotel we normally escape to when we want a break. It'll be less than 30 min away from our apartment but it the idea of being away that is nice. The room has a whirlpool and fireplace and a way for us to hook up a laptop for streaming. Maybe we'll do something later but the weekend after the wedding will be us in a hotel enjoying us.
We slept in a cabin on our wedding night. I always prefer Airbnb’s to hotels. They are more private and offer you more space and flexibility during your stay.

I agree with this except for the ease of having food available. 😁 I love Airbnb and that’s what we generally do for trips, but we are staying in a hotel for our wedding weekend. We wanted to be able to order room service and not have to worry about cleaning up. We are then moving to an Airbnb cabin on Monday after our wedding for our honeymoon.
