Wedding night hotel choices/ worth it or not?

B2B2020, on November 20, 2019 at 3:07 PM Posted in Planning 0 9
So we have been sorting through local hotels for the night before the wedding and the wedding night. These hotels are amazing but the night of our wedding were only going to be there for about 6 hours as we are headed home the next morning. My question is, is it worth the splurge? We're getting married in Charleston SC

Are you driving a ways to get to your wedding? Or you getting transportation for afterwards? If you get a hotel room FH could possibly decorate it to commemorate the night.

If you are booking a hotel block for your wedding, most hotels will either comp your room for the wedding night or give you a discount. I say it's worth the splurge! My fiance and I are waiting until our wedding night to be together physically so we want to make it special.

If you have to book a hotel anyway, I would splurge on the one you really like. I've been dying to stay at this B&B right next to my venue, but its too pricey for our normal trips to the area. What better time than our wedding to stay there Smiley smile

We're splurging and staying at the casino on our honeymoon night.

We splurged on a suite at our blocked hotel, I'm happy we did. BUT we were at our hotel Thursday night - Sunday morning (wedding Saturday) and didn't leave for our honeymoon until Monday morning. If we were truly only there for 6 hours, I don't know if we would have.

We stayed at the hotel we had a room block in. They upgraded us to a suite (it was a Courtyard by Marriott). Honestly, after the wedding all we wanted to do was sleep. As long as it's a clean, comfortable room, I don't think it's worth the extra expense. You probably aren't going to be paying attention to the splurge-worthy aspects of a pricier room if you will only be in it for less than a full night's sleep. I would save and spend that money elsewhere, like a couple's massage or something.

I think it is worth the splurge for something nearby and convenient at least. It doesn't have to be a suite or anything massive, just somewhere you can both finally relax and rest.
