Wedding night accommodations?

Futuremrsm, on January 24, 2020 at 10:04 AM Posted in Planning 0 10
Are you booking a room for your wedding night?

I originally wanted to. But now I'm not sure if it's worth it. Our wedding is on a Saturday, and we leave for our honeymoon that following Tuesday. I figure that Sunday and monday we will just spend packing and basically unwinding from the wedding events. But at the same time, there is nothing special or romantic about our apartment. I often describe it as "the place we live" rather than home. I just cant imagine coming home to my annoying neighbors and trying to celebrate with my new husband in our 600 sq ft. Apartnent.

Those of you that didnt get a room on your wedding night: do you regret it?

We had DW so we had a room but if you have it in the budget to get one I highly recommend it. You will be exhausted and to unwind in a hotel is so relaxing. You also get to spend the first night with your new husband some place other than home.

We live 4 hours from our venue so we didn't have a choice. A complimentary honeymoon suite was included in our contract as that is standard with our venue. I personally that it was nice to stay there. They had champagne and chocolate covered strawberries which was nice, but unfortunately I couldn't have either as I'm allergic to strawberries and I don't drink, but my husband enjoyed it. They also had a jacuzzi tub which was nice.

We live less than 5 minuets from our hotel, but we still are staying there. I think it will be more relaxing and special to be in a hotel.

Well we did but only because our wedding was out of town. We would’ve just come home if it was local, probably. We literally just got into bed and passed out that night, so I feel like a fancy room would’ve lost on us. One draw to the hotel was that so many of our guests were staying there, so we got to hang out with them after the wedding, and say some goodbyes the morning after too, which was nice.

We actually got a huge Airbnb about 20 mins from the venue for us and our out of town guests to stay the night before and after the wedding. It was great spending extra time with them since we see them so little and we absolutely don't regret it.

I would not have just wanted to go home after the wedding so I would definitely vote for a hotel stay for the wedding night.

It sounds like you should for sure get a hotel room, especially if you don't even refer to it as home! We did, it was nice to have somewhere to go back & relax.

We live about 20 min away from our venue, but we booked a hotel room for the night of our wedding. Part of the reason is our entire wedding party will be staying at the hotel, and the next morning we are all getting brunch together. But another reason is just to treat ourselves to a clean room that we don't have to worry about anything with. I'm expecting we will be exhausted after its all said and done, and we will want to crash. If we went home we would have to deal with our cats (I love them, but I don't want them all over our clothes) and to me, it seems a bit anti-climatic.

We are getting a hotel room for the night of the wedding! We didn't want to drive back home and wanted somewhere more "private" to celebrate lol.

Our wedding is also on a Saturday and we're leaving for our honeymoon late Monday night. We did get a hotel room the night of our wedding because I'm sure we'll be too tired to drive home even though our reception is 30 minutes away from home.
