Wedding moved from 2021 to 2022

Quietlotus, on September 1, 2020 at 10:00 AM Posted in Planning 0 7
I feel relieved and bummed. We decided this morning to move our wedding date from September 2021 to 2022 due to the pandemic. I am hopeful that things will have returned to normal by then, but we just had a wrench thrown in our savings plans.

We have to elementary age children and their school announced that community numbers (thanks returning college students 😒) are high enough tomorrow warrant switching to remote learning for all children in the district. That means I will be a stay at home mom in the next week or two and half of our income is going to disappear - stressful enough by itself and definitely not conducive to planning a wedding.
We just got engaged a few weeks ago and I was SO excited. I’m trying to look at this in a positive light - more time to plan and save and guarantees our family from out of state will be able to join us - but I also feel let down. Sigh.

Congratulations on your engagement!! Sorry you had to move your wedding. I also had to postpone, we moved our July 2020 wedding to July 2022. It's a bummer to have to wait two years, but the good news is, finding vendors for 2022 will be a lot easier for you than finding vendors for 2021! With everyone postponing from 2020 to 2021, and people who already originally scheduled their weddings in 2021, vendors will have a super full calendar next year. This way, you don't have to rush to book anyone before someone else postpones, and you also have more time to save money and plan everything perfectly. Your wedding will be beautiful in 2022!

Congratulations on your engagement!! Things are so uncertain right now I wouldn't stress too much about what the exact day will be for your wedding celebration, and instead focus on enjoying your engagement!! 💍❤️

Hi Lynnie. Is there anything you’re doing to relish the engagement experience rather than focusing on wedding planning?

Try to focus on the positives like you mentioned. More time to save and plan.
