Wedding March

Allison, on February 19, 2020 at 2:17 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 3
It has taken me forever to pick a wedding march....Well I came across a piano rendition of "Think of Me" from Phantom of the Opera. I have done musical theatre all my life and this song has always made my heart jump. The piano rendition is gorgeous and has the right flow and swells that I want in the march.
HOWEVER, while it's a love song, it's a whistful one of a girl asking her lover to think of her fondly when they part ways someday. Beautiful, but I wouldn't have the lyrics sung at a wedding that's about an eternal commitment😂
You'd have to actually know the show and the lyrics to know recognize the tune from the piano and also know the true meaning of the song....Do you think I could get away with it? What would you think if you know the song and heard the piano tune as a wedding march? I don't want to look stupid. Thanks in advance for the input!

I think it is a beautiful song. I am a huge fan of Phantom of the Opera and I think it would be great. Like you said, not many would know the lyrics or even recognize them. I definitely think you could get away with it.

A second option if it does bother you, there is a beautiful version of All I Ask of You that is instrumental that is a love song. I almost used it as my first dance song.
I believe either would be perfect!!

I think it’d be ok to have a song that you think is beautiful where honestly not every person is gonna know what it means they’ll just think wow she looks pretty and the song sounds nice

Hey Allison. My personal opinion is that if a song speaks to you, you don’t have to justify it or worry about others not getting it. If it speaks to you and you love it, go for it Smiley smile
