Google Maps isn't working for you?

I made my own...I have written/step by step directions on the front and a small Google Map on the back...

    DIY????

we have a lot of brides on here that have done DIY drawing of their maps, save the image.... and you could always do vistaprints free postcards (it will cost you $8)

You can print off a map from Mapquest/Google Maps/ Yahoo Maps.

Put a blank piece of paper over it. Use a thick marker to trace the roads you need.

Scan the traced map into the computer and save it as a .jpg

Open up your word program. Add image - add the map.

Click on the image to "format the image" Make it "Behind the text"

Then start adding text boxes to write the street names.

(you could also add a word bubble and fill it with an image if you wanted a zoom in of the street)

If you want to add little images (interstate sign, church, wine glasses, etc) you can save the images off this site and add those images too.

*or copy the mapquest map to office, trace over the roads, and then delete the original map

I used the DIY directions on wedding mapper to create a hand-traced map. It takes a lot of time but looks good when it is done. Here is the link: http://www.weddingmapper.com/diy/wedding_map

I wanted a hand-drawn sketch looking map, so I used Bing's Destination Map creator.

Very little effort and it looked pretty cool. I chose the "sketchy" style and then used an editing program to remove the background so only the trace lines remained.

I'm attempting to use this site to create a map. I am still going to have to add layers on top with the addresses, but it has some cool effects for the maps.

This image is watercolor with color tint "on" and all the color fields "0"

Http://www.weddingmapper.com is awesome! It's super user friendly and free. You can integrate your wedding map, rsvps, a photo album and other stuff. Oh and we used it for guests to rsvp and sign our guest book.
