Wedding Makeup

Kayley, on July 27, 2020 at 2:59 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 1 12
I’ve been having trouble finding a vendor that will come to where we are getting married. The region we are assigned is still 2+ hours from all these major cities and they want to charge $200+ for travel on top of their high prices!

My question is, do any brides (or grooms) have any advice or know of a good place to teach myself how to do my wedding make up? I’m sure YouTube is good? Are there any specific videos or channels I should check out?
Thanks!

Definitely check out youtube. Look up 'makeup tutorials' and find a look you love there. You can also narrow down the search by color or vibe.

The travel fee is certainly understandable if a MUA is traveling 4 hours round trip for one wedding. As the PP said, you’ll need to search YouTube for bridal makeup tutorials. But it would be important to know the make up look you’re going for… Whether that’s a more natural look, a classic beauty/bridal look or more of a trendy Instagram style makeup application.

Pinterest has some links to good artists. Find a style you like then google / youtube that style. And don't be afraid to just keep trying it on yourself without a tutorial.

I taught myself how to do makeup back in the day by watching YouTube videos daily and practicing. If you watch them profusely and continue practicing, you will eventually get the hang on it. Good luck!

I would try searching for venders not on wedding wire. We live about two hours from a major area and some of my venders aren’t even on WW.

Try the thumbtack app you find find vendors for any service in your area or where your wedding will take place.

I agree to check thumbtack. We had the same issue on WW with vendors being at least an hour or more away from where we are getting married, so I used google too and searched “city vendor.” Our event coordinator at the venue has also been excellent for getting recommendations, and our photographer.

Agree with this. I couldn’t find someone for makeup without a travel fee on ww. I researched for hours to find someone close to my venue, with no travel fees.

You could contact local salons to see if they offer services on site or can recommend mua’s

I went through this as well and despite the more rural area there were salons that offered wedding HMU that weren’t on WeddingWire. Some weren’t willing to travel but others were as long as you were in town.

I ran into an issue with my short timeline (~1 month out) but there were at least 4 options to pick from. From my most recent bad experience, I’d advise a trial before signing a contract!

On YouTube, I really enjoy Shelbey Wilson and Allie Glines' bridal makeup tutorials. They're more on the natural side, which would be very beginner friendly if you're not experienced. There also tons of other tutorials out there to match your own personal style. Practice practice practice! Also keep in mind that you don't need to necessarily go out and buy those exact products they're using. You can look up "dupes" depending on what your price range is.

If you are don't know about how to do makeup then go to youtube, there are many professionals who have their own channel and they are telling us how to do makeup. And for the makeup tools and skin-care products in good and economical rates you can buy it from https://www.dealmecoupon.com/living-libations-promo-codes.
