Wedding Makeup! Professional or self?

Brooke, on November 7, 2019 at 12:01 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 1 13
I am struggling on bringing myself to pay hundreds of dollars to pay for a professional makeup artist for my big day. What are your thoughts?!

I'm doing my own makeup! I only wear eye makeup and maybe some lipstick if I'm feeling fancy, so I didn't like the idea of paying a professional to cake my face to the point I don't feel/look like myself anymore lol

If you're comfortable with your makeup skills, I would just DIY. Otherwise, a professional may be worth the money Smiley smile

I feel like I'm pretty decent at my everyday makeup, however, I also don't think my everyday look is HD photo ready. There's literally no other time in my life where I would spend that amount of money pampering myself, but it's my wedding day and I think I deserve to splurge.

I'm the same way and think it's a bit crazy to spend hundred on professional hair and makeup. My sister have been practicing makeup a ton lately and started her own social media account for it so she is doing my makeup and my best friend is doing my hair. I'm not super concerned about either because I want a very natural look and I have full trust in both of them.

My thoughts are I’m paying a couple hundred for a makeup artist but a couple thousand for a photographer. I want to look my best and make sure all my features show up in the photos.

It's worth the money. Just got married last Friday, and I look like a dime in my photos rather than a clown if I would have done it myself. Treat yourself!

Get it done professionally. Its worth it to have someone else doing your makeup because you'll be less stressed the morning of. I love makeup and feel like I'm fairly good to do my own. But I have days I come out looking flawless and then on important days I need to look good I can't get my makeup to act right! Its worth the cost and don't skip out on the trail because you need to see how the artist works.

I'm pretty good at doing everyday makeup (I never leave my house without eye makeup on), but I wanted to pamper myself the day of my wedding so I'm getting my makeup done!

I'm doing it on my own. But that's because makeup is one of my passions, I'm good at it, and know how to accentuate my features and what I do/don't like. I'm still considering getting it done, but most likely won't.

If you enjoy doing your own makeup, I would suggest doing it yourself! I couldn't fathom spending hundreds of dollars on something when I know I could do it myself. I personally love makeup and treated myself to some high-end makeup!

Like everything wedding-related, it was expensive but so worth it. I’m okay at hair & make-up but not anywhere close to a pro. No way I’d spend 1 1/2 years planning, $10K+ on the wedding, and NOT look fabulous. 👰🏼

I may have my sister do it...she's a makeup hoarder and stays on YouTube but I'm also not opposed to doing my own just to save a few bucks. However...I'm 100% having a pro do my long, curly hair!

I am a professional makeup artist and I'm going to hire someone. I am more than capable of doing my own makeup but frankly I want to be stress free and pampered. Pictures will last a lifetime and I want to look perfect. I know very well I'm going to be anxious that day and the last thing I want to worry about is my makeup.
