Wedding List

Hi ladies! We are in the beginning of wedding planning. The day is Oct 9, 2021. How do/did you ask everyone for their addresses to send out invitations/save the dates? Something I can copy & paste to my guest list.

FH and I just let people know that we were getting married and if they'd like to attend that we would need an address to mail the stationery. I used an excel sheet to keep up with everything.

We are working on making a google doc and will be sending that out so people can put the information in themselves. It also is super helpful because it’s basically an address book we can have forever

We literally made a big group message on fb explaining the reason for the message and what we needed and asked them to message us outside the group with their information. Then I transfered all the addresses over to an address book. It works well except for a few people who don't use social media often. We just texted them. Got all addresses within a couple days

We sent out a link to everyone and had them manually enter their addresses and it automatically imported them. If you are using wedding wire, there is an option for you to text a link to your guests. It is on Zola as well

If you make a wedding website through basic invite, it will keep track of everyone's responses. You will just need to send them the website URL. Also, if you order invites from them, they will address the envelopes for you. Hope that helps!

My mom, grandmother and mother-in-law had pretty much everyone's addresses except for our friends. For our friends, we just asked them. Then I manually typed in their address into an Excel file. There are ways to send a link to them to fill out, but most require an email and not everyone is comfortable providing their email address.

Call/email/text people how you normally communicate with them. If you are close enough to invite them, it should not be a chore asking for their address.

Put them in a Google spreadsheet so you can keep track of replies/thank you cards/and rsvps you need to track down.

I sent a text with a link to a Google Form I had created. You can just send a giant group text and follow these steps to separate the messages so that you don't have to sent it a million times and no one has to see others' responses (or who did/did not get the message).

(If you do the group message thing, make sure to re-enable group messaging when you're done. Otherwise, any group messages you get later will be crazy!)

I texted or Facebook messenger’d everyone/each family to say hello, happy New Year, and asked them for their address so we could send save the dates. I think if your guest count is not outrageously large, it is a good to reach out individually so it is a personal greeting.

I just asked people through facebook or text. Also had parents get a few for me. I would create a spreadsheet to keep track. Check what website platform you are using because they might have a template. I know zola has one that you can download, fill out, then upload and all your guest would be listed and they can RSVP directly on website and you can create your seating chart there too.

We got a copy of our parents’ Christmas card lists for all relatives and close family friends, and we texted just about everyone else!
