Help!

I'm not a big jewelry person and I'm trying to figure out what kind of jewelry to wear with my wedding dress, specifically the earrings/necklace combo. I want to stick to what I like, but what also goes well with my dress.

Dress description: its a deep v, lots of cleavage. Probably going to wear my hair in an up do, haven't fully decided yet.

I was told hanging earrings will look good with my dress, but I don't really like very long ones. I also want to wear a choker, because I have always loved those, but not sure if it would be a good combo with the hanging earrings.

Any thoughts?!?!?!? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

There are a lot of options that will look nice, but I suggest wearing something you’re comfortable with. If you never wear earrings, wearing long, dangling earrings is going to make your ears hurt on your wedding day. And you definitely don’t want that! Might be worth it to find some elaborate studs instead so you don’t take them off half way through. I also like a minimalist look with jewelry, I think it should just be there to add a little something, not to be the focus. So if you’re dress is very dramatic with the neckline, you may not need a necklace.

Thanks for the advice. The deep V is the reason I'm staying away from necklaces and just looking at chokers. I feel like my neck looks super bare without anything there. But if I wear my hair down then I could probably pull off the no necklace thing.

I had hanging earrings but mine were rather short. I'm sure you can find some shorter ones you'd like !

Hey Shari! Welcome to the WeddingWire community!

I totally agree with you that you should feel comfortable and like yourself on your wedding day! If you are not comfortable with long, dangling earrings that you should stay away from them. As the pp mentioned, they will end up hurting your ears and will result in you just taking them out. You could absolutely find some stunning and blingy studs that would still have the same wow factor! Are you planning on wearing gold, silver or rose gold jewelry?

I don’t think I would wear a choker with dangling earrings but a short, delicate necklace could look beautiful with studs, especially if you feel that you need something around your neck to complete your look.

Have you seen any pieces of jewelry that you love yet?

    I am wearing silver.
Studs with a choker sounds like a good idea. I’m going to ask to try on some of the jewelry at the store when I do my dress fitting to see which goes best with it. I figured that would be the best approach

I think a choker would look great with a deep v! If you have a v in the back of the dress as well, you could do something like this...
