Wedding jewelry - match e ring?

Laura, on January 4, 2020 at 10:09 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 14

My E ring is morganite, rose gold, and diamonds. My dress has pearls, sequins, and lace. I chose these earrings because I love the shape of them... but, is there a better combination or suggestion that you can make? Do I have to go with pearls? Do I need a necklace? My veil is ivory, cut edge, chapel length. I have a bracelet too... Help?

Personally I would just go with the earrings and no necklace. Your neckline is gorgeous and it will shine without a necklace.

Why would you have to go with pearls? I think the combination you’ve picked is beautiful. I wouldn’t wear a necklace since the neckline of your dress is so distinct.

I was reading that I should match my jewelry to the details on my dress - that's sequin and pearls. I have no rhinestones at all. I was wondering if I goofed and the jewelry wouldn't look right. I'm at less than 6 months out - the worry is real. HA! Smiley tongue

Wear the necklace. It won’t take away from your dress.

Oh thank you! I can't wait - 6 more months, ugh! HA! Now I'm trying to figure out if I should wear a headband or back-piece with my chignon... LOL! The decisions never end!! Smiley tongue

I love this idea - but I was considering a headband and I think that might be too much? Maybe if I wore a back piece like the model I could wear the necklace too?

    Hi Laura,
I think the back piece would be beautiful! You'll be a STUNNING bride! My planning is basically done, I'm still 13 months away, the only thing is I sometimes stress over my dress which I've had for 5 months already, no final alterations yet, so I second guess my choice, if you want to see, it's a Stella York, style 6979 if you want to Google it, are you going to change into a second dress after your ceremony? I'm going with a lavender evening dress, my bridesmaids will be wearing the same style dress in lilac, if you want to see that dress, it's from jjshouse, style 105912, I'm very happy for you, good luck! Love to know what you think of my 👗

I love your dresses - they are amazing! I am a total sucker for lace of all kinds - and the sheer and lace is magnificent! As for me, I won't change for my reception - it's only a few hours. I do have an after party planned. So perhaps for that... if I did - I'd wear this (I think... lol!)... David's Bridal MS251192.

I don't think you need a necklace, but I do love all the pieces you picked out and think they will look great. My ring is rose gold too!

I looked at photos of people wearing the same dress as me and used what they were wearing to guide my jewelry choices (I'm lucky that my dress manufacturer has a "real brides" section of their website so I could see dozens of different weddings with women wearing my dress). I actually found that with a lot of dresses just earrings and the wedding rings were all that was needed.

I don't have my ears pierced and have heard clip-ons are painful, so will probably just end up with my rings for my wedding dress. I considered a necklace but liked the neckline better without one, and I think wearing a bracelet takes attention away from the rings. My center stone is on the smaller side (perfect for me) so I want to make sure it really stands out and don't want a fancy bracelet to pull attention away from it in photos.

This all sounds wonderful - I bet you'll look beautiful!!! I think that I will skip the necklace... I like the uncluttered look and honestly the bracelet will probably annoy me. Smiley winking
