No I don't think so. We started planning in February and our wedding is May of 2018. We have our venue, photographer, DJ, and party bus reserved. Its probably not necessary to get everything but I think the venue, DJ, and photographer are perfectly fine to book far out in advance, that way you get what you want! I am anticipating a very busy year next year so that is why I tried getting as much done now as I can.

Not at all! If you have the resources and have decided on size of wedding keep reserving the important vendors! I think you should wait on asking bridal party, start slow with choosing the dress, and wait to buy decor until after you have all the big vendors and A pretty firm idea of how you want everything, because it seems very common to buy decor items early that don't fit the wedding later on when it all comes together.

Definitely not too soon to book the reception venue.

I started planning a year and a half out. It has helped me feel less stressed and enjoy the experience a little more. This way I can relax and take a break if I need to without having to worry if everything will be done on time.

Plus, we booked our venue in December last year and we got the last Saturday available in April 2018. I actually recommend starting now if your date is during the peak season.

Not too early! If you want this venue, it's better to book sooner so that no one else books it for the day you want.

We booked our venue the month after we got engaged, so a full year and a half before the wedding.

Some venues you need to book asap. 2 days after he asked we had the ceremony and reception venues signed for. Without those you don't have the date in place. I am taking my time on everything else. I did book my salon for hair though already because the fill up quick and were already full for part of 2018 when I did book them.

There is nothing wrong with booking early. Depending on where you are located some venues book up 2 years in advance. I would, however, wait to send save the dates until 6-8 months out (if that's how you are planning to tell people you are getting married).

We are planning an August 2019 wedding. Already looking at venues. Quite a few here are (western ny) are booked for much of 2018. One of the venues we are looking at said they will book for 2019 as early as this upcoming July! So I don't think its too early to start booking, especially if you have your heart set on certain venues/vendors! Good luck!!

Not too early. No reception/venue = no date. The venues here book over a year ahead of time.

Date twins!! I've had the venue booked for a few months now Smiley smile might be biased but I'd say you're good to start booking vendors!

You have the ceremony venue booked but not the reception? This should have been done simultaneously. What if everything is booked and you have no where for your reception?
