Wedding Irrational Fears

Analie, on March 9, 2020 at 11:08 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 12

I have an irrational fear that many things will go wrong but the one that is bugging me the most is that no one will show up because they all secretly hate us. My fh tries to convince me that this won’t happen but I can’t shake it.

Have you had any irrational fears?

I am a bit of a control freak with events and want everything to go perfectly. So I’m totally stressed that nothing will go as planned. It doesn’t help that we are having a DW in Gatlinburg so everything I plan is long distance. I also want everything decided now. Right now. Our wedding is a year away. 🤦🏻‍♀️ It’s going to be a long year.

I’m a little worried about possible drama between some people. Many people on both my side and FH side are very outspoken, so hopefully everything works out 😅 probably just my wedding brain worrying me though lol

I have just started my journey toward my wedding and I have so many irrational fears already. Like people not getting along and creating a scene to no one coming because they don’t like us. I feel like us as women always jump to worst case scenario especially when it comes to important events lol.

6 months before my wedding I started having irrational nightmares no one was coming to my DW. Stress causes anxiety over things throughout wedding planning, and its normal. Talk to FI, your wedding party, closest friends, etc. Maybe about the wessing, maybe just to talk. Remind yourself of who you know is coming, and that ultimately everyone in your lives love you and want happiness for you.

I think that’s all a part of wanting things to go well. Try to read BAM posts aha they make you feel reassured that even if things went wrong or not as expected, they still end up well anyway

Oh yeah. My fear was no one would come to our wedding, things wouldn't be here/get done on time, etc. Unfortunately, out of the 120 people we invited about 90 aren't coming, including my FH's dad.

I definitely have to keep reminding myself that it is just my brain talking!

I am ok with a few things going well but pretty much my worst fear is that the people that I invited dont come and they have a shin dig about how they didn't come.
