Wedding invites getting lost in mail :(

Carla, on October 12, 2019 at 8:00 AM Posted in Planning 0 11
Hi everyone
I’ve sent my wedding invites and MANY people are not getting them. Some people are receiving them damaged, or others aren’t getting them at all 😩 what should I do?

That is really unfortunate. Sometimes special invitation sizes or shapes can be damaged or lost and often cost extra to mail. I plan to order a standard size envelope to reduce costs

I would call and personally invite them to your wedding and explain the situation.

Your wedding is still 9 months away so you have plenty of time. I would reach out to all of your guests and let them know the situation, reorder invitations, and send them out 6-8 weeks before the wedding,

I’m sending them now because it’s a destination wedding and rooms are already starting to book at that resort. And the invites were expensive so I don’t plan on re ordering

Save the dates would be better suited for that purpose. Sending invitations out nine months before your wedding is only going to give you an inaccurate headcount, but I digress. How long has it been since you sent the invitations out? Have any been returned?

Our wedding is today, last week we had someone receive theirs. They actually got upset and said something to my fmil but I explained I did send them one. So we invited them via phone, low and behold they got it last week and it also looked like it had been through, rain, sleet and snow and damaged to no end. But they got it!!! I would call them individually for sure and let them know. When I sent out my bridal shower invites I forgot to put stamps on a few 😂 it’s bride brain, it will happen girl!

If you can, I would try and hook up a wedding website or just a simple email service and send that way with an apology note. A call would also do but if you’re like me and find that that’s too much maybe an electronic version will alleviate some of the mishaps.

Could you send them an electronic one to supplement?
