Wedding Invitation/rsvp Question

Jessica, on June 5, 2019 at 1:16 PM Posted in Planning 0 11

Hello! FH is finishing designing our wedding invitations, but I am unsure about the RSVP's. We are doing online RSVP's only and therefore are not planning on sending a separate card for them. Do we put a note on the back of the wedding invitations or should we still order some type of extra card? It just seems wasteful to me if people aren't going to be mailing them back, but curious on what others are doing.

We are doing online RSVP too. I just put a line at the very bottom of the invite something like, "kindly RSVP by _____ at ____.com"

We did online only RSVP and included a little card directing our guests to out website to RSVP and for transportation and lodging details. I wouldn't put the information on the back of the invite because your guests may not turn them over.

    Hello.

At the bottom of our invites we ask if they would RSVP via our wedding website _________ by May 1st. Just a heads up I love the idea of RSVP through the website we used the knot however, as time got close to where the RSVP were due we had to just copy the link and send it to those who were lagging. We heard one guest say "I dont wanna type in all that" so for some we just had the link copied and sent it.

What wedding website are you using? I want to give you some more suggestion but it may be irrelevant if you are not use the knot.

I would put it on the bottom on front of the invite. Something like "Please RSVP online by XX."

I am doing only only and just worded it like
    "Kindly respond by XXXX
to our wedding website/the couple's wedding website
    _________________. "
I would put it on the bottom or get something like a tri-fold invitation where you can dedicate a section to RSVP.
I used The Knot and I'm considering buying one of the actual website domains so that I don't have to include all that www.theknot.com/us/xxxxxxxx nonsense and it can just be xxxxxxx.com which is easiest for guests. I have shared the long link with guests on Save the Dates but apparently it will still redirect visitors even if you change it!

I’d put it on the FRONT of the invite or a separate card (we printed business cards with our website on them as a details card). The rsvp info is too important of a detail to go on the back where many people are likely not to look.

We are including an extra card, while it is sort of wasteful, I wanted to keep the invitations as formal as possible and also make sure the information stood out. To make it easy for guests we have included a QR code that links directly to our RSVP page. I have ordered invitations from cards and pockets and was able to generate the QR code on their site.

So I didn't do online RSVPs, but I just want to say that I've never seen a QR code on an invite, but I think that is the smartest thing ever! I have really never thought of that, but it makes so much sense!

Aw thanks so much! I wish I could take more credit but I didn’t think of it either until playing around on the c&p website haha. My sister was helping me design them and I asked if she thought it was a good idea and she said “absolutely!”

We put our RSVP date and the wedding website on an insert that has other relevant information.
