Wedding invitation problem

Nicole, on April 13, 2017 at 8:27 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 16

Has anyone ever had the post office lose invitations? I hand delivered the invitations to the post office myself almost 2 weeks ago. I have come to find out that at least 5 people that we know of so far, NEVER received them. The post office said there is nothing they can do.

    Crisis?

Did you order extras? You can resend them.

Oh no Smiley sad Do you have any extra invitations? If not, I would order some extras ASAP. If that's not feasible, maybe you can send out a simpler invitation or e-vite to people who didn't receive theirs for some reason.

Trust me. This is not a crisis. Annoying as shit? Yes. But a crisis, no.

Give it a bit more time and then call some random people that didn't get them.

Your wedding is 2 months away. This is hardly a crisis. Just get more invitations and send them out immediately.

You'll just have to resend them. Sorry they're lost.

Sadly I'm not surprised. We get other people's mail all the time, so I can only imagine how much of our stuff goes missing. Sorry you are dealing with this Smiley sad

What would the best way be to figure out who didn't receive them?!? Do you resent to everyone again? Do you wait for those that don't RSVP? Do you call/txt every guests' household to verify?!? Just curious...

OP, sorry you have to deal with this; but you do have time!

I invited my MOH's parents to my wedding, along with her two sisters and their respective SO's. My MOH's parents didn't get their invite, even though everyone else in the family did (and one of the sister's invite was also sent to their address). Definitely sent it, but it got lost in the mail.

Irony of the story is MOH's dad was a higher-up at the post office, so the fact that the post office failed just kind of makes it funny.

But I'm reeeally hoping that the invites got to everyone else! I'm so worried that a few more were lost and people are out there thinking they weren't invited. Guess I'll know when the RSVPs are due, but that feels awful.

Yeah I have a few extra but it is just unnecessary money that I don't feel like I should be spending. Between the postage for the invitation and the rsvp card, that cost add some up quickly. I also have not been able to contact all guests yet. Just annoyed and wish they post office would take responsibility and help out their customer. They are a business and they say there is nothing they can do to help

Well, they can't do anything to help. What do you expect them to do. Suck it up buttercup.

One of our guests (that we know of) didn't get his invite either. I'm going to resend it. No big deal. Hardly a crisis.

A crisis would be if NOBODY received one.

2 weeks is not enough time. I think you should wait another week.

I'm 2 invites down in about 10 days since they were mailed. (And this is of those I know about). I'll be resending since my RSVP is 4/25. One is someone who also didn't get the STD which I had to resend. On my end the address is correct, but both were in cursive (when I resent STD I used print)....I LOL thinking the mailman might not know how to read calligraphy (cursive)
