Hello friends! I am starting to research where to buy invitations and realized a lot of them say "together with their families, John Smith and Jane Doe invite you to their wedding..." however I know that traditionally when the bride's parents host it should say "Mr. and Mrs. Doe request the pleasure of your company at the marriage of their daughter Jane Doe to John Smith". So now, my fiancé and I are paying for 35% of the wedding, parents of the bride are contributing 64% and parents of the groom are contributing about 1% to the wedding. It personally does not matter to ME how the invitation is worded, however my parents think it should be worded more traditionally since they are technically hosting. Is it hurtful or offensive to have the traditional wording?
