Wedding invitation envelopes

Meghan, on June 6, 2021 at 1:43 PM Posted in Planning 0 14

Did you handwrite or have names/addresses printed on the wedding invitation envelopes? If you had them printed, where did you order your invites?

(We're also looking into doing online rsvp only if that makes a difference)

Thank you!

We paid a profession to print/do some handwriting! We did it on Etsy - big fan. I've used Etsy for countless wedding things 😂

We actually got clear labels and printed those. H's handwriting is *terrible* and I have problems with my hands if I have to use a pen for hours (or at least if it needs to be neat and tidy), so this was the best solution for us. I know you can get minted, shutterfly, zazzle, etc. envelopes preprinted (we got out invitations from shutterfly) but it was more money than I wanted to spend on envelopes.

I'm going to get clear labels and print on those for both guests addresses and our return labels.

I have pretty nice writing so I wrote the guests addresses and used labels for ours.

I have pretty awful handwriting, but we just hand wrote them. I paid a bit extra through Ann's Bridal Bargains to print our return address on the envelopes, but we just handwrote the guests' addresses. It didn't take that long and people toss the envelope right away anyway.

I bought a template on Etsy and printed my own (I was going to handwrite them but decided against it). The worst part of the process was figuring out how to align the envelopes.

We ordered our STD's through Minted, and plan on doing the same for our invites. They offer free address printing, and you can pick from a large variety of fonts/styles to match your style preference! Since you're doing your RSVPs online (like us), it's not necessary to add a RSVP card with your invites, and Minted has a lot of designs that don't require you to purchase them!

I work at a print shop as a graphic designer so I am designing everything and will have our envelope addresses printed on. I'm really only doing that because my handwriting is terrible and I get everything cheaper because I'm an employee. No need to add an RSVP card if you don't want, just make sure the info to RSVP is on a details card (or on your invite because it truly doesn't matter).

I also used Minted for STDs (and postponements, sigh) and invitations. They have free recipient addressing with any design and they also have their own system for creating your wedding website so you can have your RSVPs online if you want. I'll admit they are a bit pricier than some other options but they have been SO helpful with customizing colors and designs, and you can get discounts from them for using their wedding websites and taking surveys throughout the year. You can also purchase a membership for around $30 per year which gives you 20% off everything and free shipping and I found that was more than worth it.

I hand wrote the addresses, just because I was playing around with a calligraphy style, but I ordered from minted. They’re a wonderful company to deal with. Exceptional designs and really good value. Because we are on a budget, I did all in one invites and sealed them with a wax seal. They looked beautiful. I highly recommend Minted.
